When first trying to explain what my anxiety feels like, I remember telling my now-husband, “I just don’t feel settled.”

There is nothing more important on your to do list today than spending time with the God who saved you. There are no feelings or emotions that time with your creator will not improve. There are no circumstances in life he cannot speak into. Many of us know these things, we’ve heard them over and over in our lives, but we still don’t read our Bibles.
My busy schedule simply isn’t conducive to a Sabbath. Surely God didn’t have the 21st century and all its demands in mind when he established that command. Or so I thought.
Due to my husband’s new job, I’m in a new city, a new home, a new community, and God can take me in any direction he chooses. I realized I wouldn’t get an interview, a job or even an offer without him causing it to happen. What happened after that realization was pretty extraordinary.
We’ve all had a friend at the beginning of a new romantic relationship who won’t stop talking about this new boyfriend. And while it’s annoying it’s also beautiful, because it’s the perfect example of how easy it is to talk about those we spend a great deal of time with.
You’ve heard the phrase “power couple” before, right? It refers to that couple who has it all together.
The hard truth, my friend, is this: if I don’t leave space for God to move, I won’t see him move.
I know to some of us all these words can be difficult to keep straight. Or am I the only one who can read a paragraph in the Bible three times and still have no idea what I’m reading?
Is it just me, or do you often feel you need God to bind you to himself? It seems despite my best intentions there always comes a time when I feel distant from God. I know well enough by now in my walk with him, it’s not God who has wavered or caused the distance, it’s me. I wander.
Let me try to get in your head for just a second. You know it’s important to spend time reading the Bible. You long to be the type of person who’s known for praying for other people. You wish you knew more about God and the Christian faith you claim as your own.
